State-park activity guide

Plan a state-park paddling trip

Start with the exact water body, launch and return plan. A park with a lake is not automatically a suitable outing for every boat, paddler or weather forecast.

Identify your access

A broad reservoir name can send navigation far from your booking. Match the launch or operator to your intended park visit. Check current permitted uses and any equipment or rental arrangements directly.

Plan a separate walking day

Grayson Lake’s coves and Devil’s Lake’s shore can support very different visits. Do not make the day depend entirely on being on the water; choose a land-based option you would still enjoy.

Conditions outrank an itinerary

Check the weather and official water guidance close to departure. This publication does not provide live wind, water or rescue information. Ask the park or operator about the specific outing rather than using the illustration as evidence.
